Ruggeri is one of the historic specialists of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, based directly in Valdobbiadene in the province of Treviso, Veneto. The winery’s roots reach back to the 19th century Bisol family, when Eliseo Bisol and his son Luigi—one of Valdobbiadene’s early oenologists—were making wine in the area. The modern winery was established on June 26, 1950, when Giustino Bisol and his cousin Luciano Ruggeri founded the business and chose Luciano’s surname for the new winery. Five generations of the Bisol family have contributed to its development, and since 2017 Ruggeri has been part of the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Group.
