Conniption Kinship Gin opens with a crisp botanical foundation of classic gin juniper, Indian coriander, cardamom, licorice root and angelica root—vapor-distilled to give clean aromatic structure. Then, fresh orange and lemon peels, cucumber and honeysuckle flowers are cold vacuum-distilled to preserve their bright, fresh character. Finally, the gin is naturally infused with butterfly pea flowers to deliver its signature deep indigo colour (which shifts to pink/violet when mixed with citrus or tonic). On the nose you’ll pick up lemon and orange zest, juniper pine, honeysuckle flower and cucumber freshness. On the palate it continues with juniper and bitter orange, cardamom spice, crisp cucumber, licorice root and a smooth citrus-led finish that lingers.
Conniption Kinship Gin is crafted using Durham Distillery’s signature “Modern Distillation” method, a dual-process technique that combines traditional vapor-distillation with cold vacuum-distillation to preserve the most delicate botanicals. The base begins with a grain-neutral spirit redistilled in a German pot still, where classic botanicals—juniper berries, Indian coriander, angelica root, licorice root, and cardamom—are vapor-infused to create structure, depth, and the traditional backbone of gin.
Serve in a highball or large balloon glass with premium tonic water and a lemon or orange twist; watch the indigo hue change to blush/pink as the citrus hits the gin.
For a show-stopping cocktail: mix 1.5 oz Kinship Gin, ¾ oz fresh lemon juice, ¾ oz simple syrup, shake with ice → strain into a coupe → top with chilled Prosecco → garnish with lemon twist (a purple “French 75” variant)
For a simpler style: over a large clear ice cube in a rocks glass with a single thin cucumber ribbon and tonic splash; the visual transformation and botanical lift make it perfect for “golden hour” or rooftop sipping.
