Peter Zemmer’s Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is a refined, mineral-driven expression of the region’s crisp alpine style. It opens with aromas of pear, white peach, citrus zest, green apple, and delicate florals, accented by a distinct stony minerality. The palate is bright and refreshing, showing clean orchard fruit, lively acidity, subtle herbal undertones and a long, elegant finish energized by the cool mountain climate.
Located in the heart of Italy’s Alto Adige region, the Peter Zemmer Estate was founded in 1928 and is still family-run in the third generation. The estate’s vineyards span an impressive altitude range—from approximately 220 m to 1,030 m above sea level—giving the winery access to a wide variety of microclimates and soil types.
The grapes are grown in select estate vineyards in Cortina s.s.d.v., where calcareous gravel soils, sandy alluvial deposits, and strong day–night temperature swings help Pinot Grigio retain freshness while developing concentrated aromatics. After gentle pressing, the wine ferments at cool temperatures in stainless steel, preserving its purity, lift, and mineral expression. A short period on fine lees contributes subtle texture without weight, emphasizing finesse over richness.
Pairs well with grilled shrimp, branzino, fresh salads. prosciutto with melon, sushi, and margherita pizza.
