On the nose it greets you with a bright, aromatic bouquet of white flowers, citrus peel, green apple, pear, and hints of tropical / stone fruit — peach or nectarine — complemented by a delicate floral-herbal lift and a subtle mineral/sea-breeze nuance typical of coastal-influenced Abruzzo whites.
Pietrame is produced by Cantina Tollo, based in Italy. Cantina Tollo, founded in 1960, is a historic cooperative winery made up of 700 members, one of the most important companies in the Abruzzo wine sector that has contributed crucially to renewing the Italian wine scene.
Vinification respects freshness and purity: grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, gently pressed, and vinified at controlled low temperatures in stainless steel tanks — a classic method for Terre di Chieti Pecorino that preserves floral and fruit aromatics while enhancing acidity and balance.
Pairs well with fresh seafood shellfish, such as raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, steamed clams, calamari or grilled prawns.
