Produced by Virgen del Galir, Maruxa. It has more than 40 hectares of vineyards in the towns of Éntoma and Las Ermitas to produce its outstanding wines. The vines, planted in the slate, clay and granite soils so characteristic of the area, are arranged in terrace plots, more than 600 metres above sea level and at a gradient of 40%. This distinctive method of cultivation was inherited from the Romans, and the two indigenous grape varieties (Godello and Mencía) produce wines with a singular character.
Virgen del Galir is in the midst of a revival, planting a further 20 hectares of land that will enter into production in the coming years, creating new wines from this incredibly unique region.
