Monolithos is produced by a parent company called Bairaktris.
Bairaktaris is located in the largest winemaking region of Greece, Nemea, which has a PDO status thanks to the polydynamic and most planted red grape of Greece Agiorgitiko. This is a small, family run winery, practicing sustainable agriculture, with no use of chemicals. At least 80% of grapes come from the 15 ha of estate owned vineyards, most at 850m altitudes.
Descending from generations of grape growers, with parcels in some of the best regions of Nemea (such as the famous Koutsi region), the family decided to turn to winemaking over a decade ago, starting with the most important thing; their high quality grapes.
