Pronounced SENZA. The Italian definition of “without”, or “to do without”. No chemicals, no pesticides. Only what Mother Nature has given us. A range of incredibly delicious wines produced using exclusively organic grapes.
It’s a reference to their winemaking philosophy and practices, which are entirely organic and focus on as little human interference as possible. The team at Zensa focus on using organic grapes from Trapani and Puglia, crafting wines from indigenous varieties such as Primitivo, Nero D’Avola, and Fiano.
Grapes are selected from low-yielding, fully organic vineyards, which are rich in wild flora and fauna that replace the need for chemical pesticides or insecticides. The winery stick to the motto ‘green in the growing, and friendly in the production’, also electing to use no products of animal origin at any stage in their process – meaning their wines are entirely vegan-friendly. With as little human interference in the winery as possible, the final range is fresh, fruit-forward, and emblematic of the natural, sun-filled vineyards from which they grew.
