Ruby red with increasing garnet hues due to ageing. Alluring aromas of violet, cherry and berries, combined with pleasant spicy notes. Round and velvety. Very elegant and supported by thick and smooth tannins. Persistent and intense on the finish.
The structure of the Castle of Meleto, a 13th century majestic building, rises on a gentle hill, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, at a small distance from the border between the old republics of Florence and Siena.
The soil composition is clayey with a good percentage of red sands to the northeast and an increasing presence of alberese to the south.
Pairs well with lamb.
