This wine continues to define California’s Unoaked Chardonnay category. Vibrant, yet amazingly balanced, its focused acidity compliments a surprisingly weighty mid-palate. Showcasing the essence of pure Chardonnay without oak to get in the way. Intensely bright with lifted citrus and mineral aromas that are offset with light savory tones to add complexity. Then comes the texture: pure balance and persistence. It’s mouthwatering with refreshing acidity that contrasts its surprisingly robust full mouth feel. Slight tannins add subtle tension and pull the wine into a persistent, serious finish.
Teresa’s Chardonnay predominately is grown on a thin stretch of sandy soil that borders the western end of the vineyard surrounding the winery. It’s a continuous block that produce a distinct and lifted wine every year. Beginning in 2021, two new Sebastopol Hills vineyards joined the mix. Our Sexton Valley vineyard, which sits directly below our famed Sexton Hill vineyard, and Jacqueline’s Vineyard, named for the eldest Balletto daughter. These two new vineyards have taken the wine to new levels.
Balletto Vineyards makes all of its wine from sustainably farmed estate vineyards located throughout the cool southern third of the Russian River Valley. It is one of the few Russian River wineries to be 100 percent estate grown and estate bottled, and specializes in vineyard designated Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, which are consistently elegant, balanced and delicious.
Pairs well with seafood based dishes, poultry such as pork tenderloins, pizza with goat cheese, prosciutto and balsamic glaze, and chicken in a cream sauce.
