Vintage Description

Chézelles Sauvignon blanc is a terrific value. It offers traditional Loire Valley character: with plenty of fresh citrus fruits complemented by grassy, herbal tones. Look for lemon, white grapefruit, and zesty bell pepper on the nose with white peach on the finish.  It is light-bodied with a refreshing acidity.

Sauvignon Blanc grape blend.

The Estate

The “Des Chézelles” vineyards are located on the banks of the river Cher where the soil is chalky clay mixed with a little flint, sand and gravel. These plots have been handed down from father to son since the 1850s, and are now in the hands of Philippe Derouet, his wife Catherine and their daughter Aurélie.

Wine Making

The grapes are treated to a slow fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel vats, resulting in fresh and aromatic wines with excellent structure and length with subtle minerality.

Food Suggestions

Pairs well with asparagus, green salads, goat cheese, and any white fish you’d want to squeeze lemon onto.
