December 2022, we are highlighting a few of La Ina’s Sherries!
La Ina, is part of Lustau, which is owned by the Caballero Group. A family business founded in 1830, based in El Puerto de Santa María in Cádiz, southern Spain, we produce and commercialize top-quality spirits and wines, with a strong link to the DO Jerez-Xérez-Sherry.
They are currently present in more than 50 countries with 125 employees and a company that seeks to grow through innovation, strategic alliances, as well as new acquisitions. From the very beginning, their company has bet strongly on exports and on being present in key international markets.
Today La Ina brands can be enjoyed across all five continents thanks to a wide network of distributors and commercial agents in different markets.
La Ina is one of the most recognizable brands of Fino and used to be owned by the venerable Bodegas Domecq. Unfortunately, in one of the last decade’s downturns, Domecq went out of business and Lustau purchased the solera as-is from Domecq. They have continued to make this fino exactly the same as it is a classic of Jerez. A touch of blanched almond, green apple, olive brine, and that yeasty mineral finish makes for a classic pairing with something from the ocean.
