In the glass, the wine pours a brilliant light ruby color with tawny highlights. The nose is hauntingly aromatic, emitting pristine aromas of red cherry, raspberry and ripe strawberry all underpinned by a delicate combination of spice and floral notes that effortlessly waft from the glass. Layered and elegant on the palate, the wine showcases loads of soft, satin tannins perfectly balanced by a brisk acidity and concentrated fruit flavors that deliver power and refreshment. Four generations of the Rocca family have been crafting exceptional wine in Barbaresco since the 1940’s, when Giacomo Rocca began bottling his wine in demijohns. In the 1960’s, his son, Albino, expanded the vineyard holdings of the family and founded the eponymous estate.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel then aged in large German and Austrian oak casks for two years, resulting in a clean, pure and refined expression of Barbaresco. In the glass, the wine pours a brilliant light ruby color with tawny highlights.
