Vintage Description

The first breath of this wine opens to cherries with cinnamon followed by allspice and strawberry flowers. In the pallet, cherry cola and cinnamon sticks with bright acidity greet you and roll into the mid with a rich mouthfeel. The finish is long, with lingering notes of raspberry, cherry, and nutmeg.

The Estate

The story begins with our grandfather, Irv Bliss, whose passion for agriculture grew through his years of farming in Sonoma County. Irv grew pears, prunes, walnuts, and a large family garden just outside of Healdsburg, in Sonoma County, California.

Wine Making

100% Pinot Noir, Blocks 1, 2,& 3 from our Philo Vineyard in Anderson Valley Clone selection: Pommard, 115, & 777. Hand-picked two lots on September 10th. Morning loads only, de-stemmed with 50% remaining as whole berries. Average cold soak for 6 days. 16 days on the skins and double racked to all French oak. 18 months in barrels, 33% new French oak.

Pairs well with Duck à l’orange, Rack of Lamb, Grilled Salmon or Shark, Portobello Mushroom Pasta, Pasta Primavera.
