Bordeaux is probably the most well-know wine region in France. Bordeaux counts for one third of the good quality french wine. The Chateau Amour estate is composed of 90 hectares in the AOC Médoc region. The vines are situated in the village of Civrac-en-Médoc, North-West of Lesparre-Médoc and Saint-Estéphe. They benefit from the maritime influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean as well as from their proximity to the Gironde estuary, which together create ideal climatic conditions for the optimum development and maturity of the grapes. The vineyard flourishes on gravelly hillocks on some of the best terroirs in the Médoc. In 2016, the estate obtained the HVE—High Environmental Value—label, a guarantee of quality and respect for the environment.
Both the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.
Barrel fermentation for 2-3 weeks. Aged for 12-18 months.
