Fresh and very lively black cherry and boysenberry aromas mixed with cedar and pine needles. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity, lovely fleshy blackberry and raspberry fruit mixed with black pepper and tobacco towards the finish.
Château Chasse-Spleen is the leading Moulis estate along with Château Poujeaux. Although it is classified only as a Cru Bourgeois, it regularly outperforms many of the Médoc’s more renowned classed growths.
Vinified in a combination of stainless steel tanks and wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vat. Aged in French oak barrels (40% new) for 12-15 months before bottling.
Pairs well with beef, lamb, veal, deer, and poultry dishes.
