Château Le Breton is made from 35 year old Merlot vines which sit on clay and limestone soils. Deep ruby in color with dark plum notes on the nose. The palate has ripe black fruit characters combined with a mineral note from the soils and a touch of clove and cinnamon spice from 6 months oak ageing.
Château Le Breton is located on the commune of Massugas to the east of Bordeaux, near the commune of Ste Foy la Big. It is a very hilly region. picturesque, with a tormented relief literally “falling” into the Dordogne. From pruning to vinification, the Château practices a traditional and reasoned culture, with only enriched soil in organic manure. During the harvest, the plots are selected and vinified separately in order to to proceed with the assembly before placing. The harvest is destemmed then placed in maceration for 30 days, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The cellar is equipped with a thermoregulation system with micro oxygenation. AGING: 5 to 7 years. FOOD/WINE PAIRING: This wine will go very well with grilled red meats, poultry but also cheeses.
