Domaine Girault Sancerre Rouge, made from Pinot Noir grapes, offers a tasting experience with notes of red fruits like cherries and berries, with floral hints and a touch of earthiness. It’s known for its balanced, refined character and a medium-bodied palate with red fruit ripeness and latent acidity. Some tasters also note citrus (like grapefruit), spice (jalapeno, pepper), and earthy (cocoa, iron) notes.
Known as the garden of France, this long valley stretches East and West and has different terroirs and microclimates along the way. This estate is approximately 35 years old. The Pinot Noir is grown from vines 35 to 40 years old, the soil is a mix of clay and clay-limestone.
All of these 31 parcels are tended, harvested and vinified separately and the utmost care and respect for the environment is used in the growing process. The estate is located at the northern tip of the village of Bue just east of Sancerre. For the Pinot Noir, high vine density is used at about 7,000 to 8,000 vines per hectare which are sustainably farmed.
Pairs well with grilled chicken, light pasta dishes and any cheese you can get your hands on.
