Attributes

Delicate floral aromas and fresh fruit flavors come together in this classic Provençal-style rosé. The perfect accompaniment to summer barbecues and hot days, but don’t be afraid to hang on to a couple of bottles for Thanksgiving, where the acidity can help cut through a long, rich meal.

A Carignane grape blend.

The Estate

Frog’s Leap Winery was founded by John Williams and his wife at the time, Julie, and Larry Turley and his wife at the time, Jeannine. Larry, the founder of Turley Cellars and brother to well-known winemaker Helen Turley and John made their first barrel of wine from grapes they sourced from Stag’s Leaps Wine Cellars. From vineyards to the winery, the focus is on growing and making balanced food-friendly wines. The wines are all made with non-inoculated (indigenous) yeasts. These are wines showing alcohol restraint; as of our latest visit, none of the wines were above 14% alcohol – a rarity these days in Napa Valley.

Wine Making

Grapes were loaded whole-cluster and immediately pressed to tank, giving the wine a faint pale pink color—the namesake of the wine. Bracing acidity and bright flavors give the fruity essence of the wine a ton of lift, with depth of character from the old vines and ample time on the lees.

Food Suggestions

Pairs well with pork, rich fish such as salmon and tuna, vegetarian and poultry dishes.
