The Centerline Red shows a deep ruby to garnet hue. On the nose expect ripe blackberry, dark plum, black cherry, with undertones of dark cocoa, warm spice, and subtle earthiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, delivering jammy black- and red-fruits, a plump mid-palate, soft but present tannins, and a slightly spicy, peppery finish that adds a touch of complexity. Acidity is balanced, and oak (if used) appears to be integrated and not heavy, letting fruit remain central.

The Estate

Priest Ranch traces its roots back to 1869, when gold-rush prospector James Joshua Priest established the original estate in Napa Valley.  Over 150 years later, the property remains a testament to California wine history — a bridge between pioneering heritage and modern winemaking.

Wine Making

Highflyer is crafted as a ripe, California-style red blend built around warm-climate Rhône/Zin varieties from Lodi. The fruit (Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Grenache) is sourced from select Lodi vineyards chosen for ripe, concentrated fruit and soft tannin structure. Grapes are picked at full ripeness, then fermented separately by variety to allow precise control over each component’s flavor and tannin profile before blending.
