A traditional Tuscan blend consisting of 95% Sangiovese and 5% of the classic Chianti grapes Canaiolo & Colorino. Bright cherry, raspberry, sage, tobacco, and licorice. The palate is earthy and dusty with moderately drying tannins, balancing the ripe fruit and keeping this wine serious. The wine exhibits a perfect balance of being both modern and traditional.

The Estate

Il Palazzino is, inexplicably, one of the most under the radar estates in all of Chianti Classico. Alessandro and Andrea Sderci craft, rich, large-scaled Chianti Classicos that capture all of the natural intensity of Monti in Chianti, where the estate is located. Readers who have not tasted these wines owe it to themselves to do so.

Wine Making

Natural viticulture has been followed for many years and the estate is now in the conversion phase to be certified organic.The 15 hectares of vineyards have been replanted with disease resistant clones, all Sangiovese except for Canaiolo Nero that was planted in a vineyard of Casina Girasole.
