Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett offers a discreet and sublime, complex and very elegant and slightly flinty nose with a coolish and very delicate expression of stewed apricots but also some greenish berries, whereas the first stony character remains. This irresistible and noble bouquet leads to a round and lush yet also refined and savory palate, with coolish apricot flavors on the long and sustainably salty finish that is firmly structured but elegant and highly stimulating. This is a superb, very elegant and complex, sustainably structured Sonnenuhr.

The Estate

Wehlener Sonnenuhr” (Sundial of Wehlen) is a vineyard located in the heart of the Middle Moselle wine region, directly opposite the well-known wine village of Wehlen.

Wine Making

Bluish-grey, primarily stony slate from the Devonian Period combined with deposits of loess and quartzite result very mineraly wines. The increased work demanded by cultivating the steepest area right around the sundial is rewarded each year.

Food Suggestions

Pairs well with pork, shellfish, spicy foods, poultry, and cured meat.
