This wine pours to a pale yellow with grey undertones, offering a subtle first impression on the nose. Once aerated this wine opens up to reveal aromas of mandarin, honeysuckle and aniseed. The nose is an expressive bouquet. An initial impression of varied aromas infused with notes of boxwood, broom and rhubarb, developing nuances of dried fruits, almonds and pistachios. The palate reveals itself to be soft and unctuous with a lively finish. Lingering aromas of orange peel and white chocolate.
The vineyards here surround the eponymous town, which sits atop a bean-shaped hill overlooking the river Loire. It is only since the mid-20th Century, and the creation of a protected Sancerre appellation, that “Sancerre” has been so strongly associated with white wines.
In the CROCHET family, we have cultivated the hills of Bué since the 16th century. We are born and we die as winegrowers. Jean-Marc joined his father in 1980, then Mathieu followed in 2007.
