Vintage Description

This wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, and red cherry, accented by notes of black pepper and dried herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with juicy dark fruit flavors supported by soft, approachable tannins. Subtle spice and earthy undertones add depth. Balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh and versatile. The finish is smooth, fruit-forward, and gently savory.

Chardonnay grape blend.

The Estate

Maison Louis Latour, founded in 1797 and still family owned, expanded into the Ardèche to produce high-quality wines outside Burgundy using traditional French winemaking expertise. The Coteaux de l’Ardèche project allows the house to craft expressive southern French blends at approachable price points. The 2022 reflects the warmth and generosity of the region while maintaining balance and structure.

Wine Making

Fruit is sourced from estate-managed vineyards in the Ardèche, benefiting from warm Mediterranean conditions. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve fruit expression. Limited oak influence may be used to add softness and subtle complexity. The style prioritizes approachability, balance, and everyday drinkability.

Food Suggestions

This wine pairs well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. It also complements pasta with tomato-based sauces and charcuterie. A versatile option for casual dining and by-the-glass programs.
