Vintage Description

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet opens with refined aromas of lemon zest, white peach, and pear layered with subtle notes of hazelnut and toasted brioche. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and tightly structured, offering citrus, orchard fruit, and a pronounced mineral backbone. Bright acidity provides lift and precision. The texture is silky yet focused, with well-integrated oak adding depth without heaviness. The finish is long, elegant, and distinctly chalky.

Chardonnay grape blend.

The Estate

Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy’s most historic and respected houses, family owned since 1797. With deep roots in the Côte de Beaune, the maison is known for precise, terroir-driven white Burgundies. Their Puligny-Montrachet reflects the appellation’s hallmark elegance, minerality, and restrained power.

Wine Making

Chardonnay grapes are sourced from select village-level parcels in Puligny-Montrachet. Fermentation and aging take place in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak used to enhance structure and complexity. Regular lees stirring builds texture while preserving freshness. The winemaking approach emphasizes balance, minerality, and age-worthiness.

Food Suggestions

This Puligny-Montrachet pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, and fine seafood preparations. Its structure also complements roasted chicken, veal, and dishes with beurre blanc or cream-based sauces. An excellent option for refined, seafood-driven or French-inspired menus.
