With its deep dark red color, this rosso reveals the maturity of the 2015 vintage, with scents of black fruit, berries and spices. Its rich and harmonious character is evidence of a particularly balanced harvest, supported by thick and velvety tannins that lead to a lingering and rich finish.

The Estate

Located in the far north of Umbria, on the border with Tuscany and northern Lazio, this winery was founded in 1985 by Paolo and Noemia d’Amico. The vineyards lie within the UNESCO-designated zone of calanchi, stark vertical hillsides of eroded lava and tufa, both of which form large components of the soil throughout the area, and the vines absorb intense mineral traces from that soil and transmit those characteristics to the grapes.

Wine Making

The vineyards are located between Rome and Florence, overlooking Umbria, at an altitude of about 450 metres a.s.l. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% new wood; 12 months in bottle.
