Peter Zemmer’s Pinot Bianco is a benchmark Alpine white—bright, pure, and mineral-driven. It opens with lifted aromas of green apple, white pear, citrus blossom, and hints of alpine herbs, all supported by a clean mineral edge. The palate is refreshing and elegant, showing crisp orchard fruit, subtle melon, lively acidity, and a persistent, stony finish that perfectly reflects the mountain terroir.
Located in the heart of Italy’s Alto Adige region, the Peter Zemmer Estate was founded in 1928 and is still family-run in the third generation. The estate’s vineyards span an impressive altitude range—from approximately 220 m to 1,030 m above sea level—giving the winery access to a wide variety of microclimates and soil types.
The grapes are sourced from a mix of valley-floor and hillside vineyards in Cortina s.s.d.v., where calcareous gravel, sandy alluvial deposits, and strong day–night temperature swings give Pinot Bianco both vibrancy and texture. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes cool, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, with a short period on fine lees to enhance mouthfeel while maintaining purity. No oak is used, allowing the wine’s fresh aromatics and mineral focus to shine completely.
Pairs well with light seafood dishes.
