The Estate

Founded in 1864 by Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves, a Bordeaux‑trained winemaker. He brought French classic varietals—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec—alongside the native Tempranillo (then known as Tinto Fino)

Wine Making

Hand-picked in small crates, generally from late September to early October. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel or wooden vats with indigenous yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel. Aged two years in oak barrels and three years in the bottle before release (total ≈5 years aging the basis for its “5°” name)

Pairs well with grilled or roasted lamb chops, charred beef, aged Manchengo cheese, cured pork loin, chorizo, Mexican style dishes, rich stews, and spicy nut-based desserts.
