The Pellegrini family has been farming grapes in the hills of Bolgheri for four generations. Filippo and Alessandro Pellegrini, manage the estate and Nicola Scottini is the winemaker. In 1998, they began releasing wine under its own label. Aia Vecchia is located deep in the Tuscan countryside between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. This is an area where the favorable microclimate and ideally suited soils make possible the production of very high quality wines. The particular position of the vineyards provides the vines with both direct sunlight and sunlight reflected by the sea. This in general allows an early harvest. The property consists of 170 acres – 118 are vineyards, 74 of which are under the Bolgheri DOC.
