Quinta Monteiro de Matos is a family-owned winery currently run by the third generation of the family. Present in the Tejo region, Antonio Monteiro de Matos started the winery in the middle of the twentieth century. After two decades, in 1975, Antonio de Matos bought more land intending to plant more vineyards to make more wines as the demands were increasing every year at a high rate. Quinta Monteiro de Matos wines have a presence in over 20 countries, and their exports account for over 75 percent of their total sales. Their wine collection ranges from entry-level to medium to the best high-end wines recognized with a seal of quality.
