Domaine Michel Redde

About Domaine Michel Redde

Domaine Michel Redde et Fils is a family-owned winery in Pouilly-sur-Loire in France’s Loire Valley known primarily for its expressive Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc wines. The estate has been in the Redde family for many generations, with its current size and reputation shaped by Michel Redde and now carried on by Thierry and his sons Sébastien and Romain. The domaine benefits from a mix of clay-limestone, Kimmeridgian marl, and flint (siliceous) soils that give its wines notable minerality, finesse, and aromatic complexity typical of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc from this appellation. Their vineyards are farmed sustainably with practices that minimize synthetic inputs and emphasize soil health and grape quality.

The vineyard holdings cover around 40+ hectares planted almost exclusively to Sauvignon Blanc, with old vines that contribute to concentrated, terroir-driven fruit. The semi-continental climate of the region, with cool influences from the Loire River, supports slow, balanced ripening, enhancing both aromatic precision and freshness in the wines. Domaine Michel Redde produces a range of cuvées, from the approachable Petit F… to more serious, site-specific single-vineyard wines such as La Moynerie and Barre à Mine, each reflecting distinct soil profiles and offering varying expressions of minerality, fruit, and structure.
